Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is a collaborative process between an individual and therapist. Focus is generally on addressing presenting concerns, exploration of your internal world, support in the expression of thoughts and emotions, processing experiences and relationships. Goals for services are unique to the individual and at Prism Therapy are typically created collaboratively and client-led.

Individual therapy can look different depending on the client’s needs and the therapist’s model, theory, and/or training. Depending on the particular case, therapy can be short or long-term. Prism Therapy Group strongly believes in healing through connection, as well as strives to consistently provide a comfortable and safe space for each client to feel heard, understood, and supported.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is a type of therapy geared towards helping two partners address and work through relationship dynamics. Couples therapy can be used for many purposes such as increasing marital satisfaction, addressing conflict and communication in relationships, improving collaboration in co-parenting relationships, and aiding in addressing stressors and adjustments that occur at the many ages and stages of a relationship.

This form of therapy views the “client” as the “relationship,” meaning the focus is on addressing the relational dynamics, patterns, and cycles we can often become stuck in. Prism Therapy Group strives to provide support within the various dimensions of couple relationships and work alongside each partnership to ensure both partners are able to be heard and validated. Working toward solutions that work for your relationship to promote secure communication, connection, and collaboration within the coupled system.

Play Therapy

Play therapy is a form of therapy used to explore, understand, and support a child’s internal world. Instead of talking, play therapy uses the art of play as the primary form of communication. Play is generally the first form of communication and is developmentally more appropriate for children than traditional talk-therapy methods, as these parts of the brain are still developing.

In-play therapy, kids are able to utilize play to identify and express their emotions, gain increased awareness of their thoughts and behaviors, and develop new, healthy copings skills. Play therapy at Prism Therapy Group focuses on establishing genuine and trusting relationships with kids, while also providing a safe space to develop the skills they need for success.
